Families Uniting Families Tutoring Program

Families Uniting Families is a recipient of Title I Neglected/Delinquent Program funding. We are able to supplement services to our children under Federal education standards. Through Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) we are able to provide a qualified teacher, tutors, and educational consultants that work to engage and facilitate academic curiosity and improvements in the areas of English and Math.

Education priorities will focus on three goal areas with an emphasis on utilizing technology to achieve the goals selected by each site. The three goal areas are Reading, Math and School to Career.

Goal 1:

To close the gap in academic achievement of students with an assessed reading and/or writing score that is three (3) years or more below grade level. Achievement of the goal will be demonstrated by moving each student closer to grade level performance as measured by pre/post assessments utilizing the Star Advantage Reading Assessment, California Standards Test (CST), and California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE).

Goal 2:

To close the gap in academic achievement of students with an assessed math score that is three (3) or more years below grade level. Achievement of the goal will be demonstrated by moving each student closer to grade level performance as measured by pre/post assessments utilizing the Star Advantage Math Assessment, California Standards Test (CST) and the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE).

Goal 3:

To provide each child with interest and aptitude information (as applicable to age/grade level) that will motivate and guide them to thoughtful career choices based on individual data and will prepare them for entering the world of work in the 21st Century. Achievement of the goal will be demonstrated by such pre/post aptitude and interest assessments as Choices, and other measures as determined by the site.
