Sharon Vaughn, LCSW

For the past 18 years Sharon has worked in mental health and extensively in child welfare, specializing in adoptions. Sharon has a special affinity for children who have been placed within the foster care system and has been dedicated to ensuring permanency in their lives.  Sharon has previous experience in working with Department of Children and Family Services in Los Angeles County during the late 1990’s and early 2000’s.  She has noteworthy experience working with Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health as a Psychiatric Social Worker and as a Clinical Supervisor for Shields for Families.  For the past 6 years, Sharon has acted as a consultant on the private nonprofit side of adoptions.  Sharon came to Families Uniting Families in the latter part of 2012 to spearhead the creation of the Adoption Program which she now oversees.  Sharon holds a strong belief that maintains that every child deserves a loving permanent home.   As such, she continues to ensure that FUF certifies the most qualified people to provide Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego Counties the best foster and adoptive families for our most disadvantaged children.
